1970 : Yoga maya devi established a student Council while studying in college. It was foundedly the students council of democratic students of the socialist unity center of India.

1976 : Mamata Banerjee took over as editor of the women's Congress in the state. She performed this duty efficiently for four years.

1984 : Mamata Banerjee was elected from the jadavpur centre after defeating the leftists leader Somnath Chattopadhyay.

1991 : The Lok Sabha won the election. She was given the responsibility of state Human Resources Development, youth and sports.

1997 : Mamata Banerjee quite the Congress. She was born in the hands of All-India, better known as Trinamool Congress.

1999 : Mamata Banerjee was sworn in as Railway Minister and presented the first Railway Budget.

2004 : Mamata Banerjee defeated Robin Dev.

2006 : Mamata Banerjee lost in the municipal elections. Later, the Railway minister resigned.

2011 : The Trinamool Congress Alliance was elected the 8th chief minister of west Bengal, winning 227 seats.

2016 : Mamata Banerjee became the chief minister of west Bengal for second time.
